Pull the boot off the turbo and see what kind of play you have in the turbo wheel. You may also want to pull the exhaust side and see if it is soaked with oil. If so, then you have likely found your source of oil/bluesmoke. Checking the tailpipe can accomplish the same thing. Usually when a turbo blows a seal, it's on the exhaust side. It could however be on the intake side. This obviously doesn't explain you motors ability to fill itself with oil.

Well with working 60 + hours a week and on top of that staying in a hotel I don't have much time to work on the truck parts changing so it's on it's way to the Ford garage to get repaired. If it's to high in price I will just part it out and find another one. Will post up what they find.

Thanks for all the help and responses.

Well got a chance to stop at ford when I got home, everything checks out ok electrical, #'s 8 and 5 injectors are dumping fuel. They will remove them Thursday to see what they need. If they are bad needing rebuilt should I just replace all 8 while in there ?

128,000 is low miles for needing 8 injectors in my opinion. Something else to consider is that if you are thinking 8 new injectors, I would try to find somebody in your area that has a good reputation with PSD's and see what they would charge to install some aftermarket injectors. They are less expensive than Fords. There are several vendors on this site that rebuild injectors, all have a great reputation. One of them may know someone in your area that could install the injectors for you. Just a suggestion.

I'd have them stop working on it and see if anyone close by could give you a hand with swapping injectors, then buy yourself a set (plus cups) and rent/borrow the tool. 60+ hour workweeks stink but you could do all 8 injectors yourself for what they will probably charge to do 2...

The job has been completed, they will test drive it tomorrow. They bench tested all 8. Three were bad and dumping fuel, two of those were totally open. I believe they said 1 had a problem on the vacuum side. Pretty neat how they teat them, I watched, they put it in a steel box, and it simulates being in the engine. So 3 new injectors and new o-rings and seals on the rest. Can't wait to get it back.
