Dangling electrical plug underdash

Ok I have never noticed this dangling electrical plug before. I can't feel anything on the backside of that metal in the pic that this would go to. Any idea's what this is supposed to plug into or what it does? Everything seems to be working fine.

ohh, i didn't even know our trucks had one. so did it just fall out of one of those holes in the metal?

Differential speed sensor data link connector, C163. It normally mounts in the holes just above it in the picture.

so its just a plug to retrieve info with a reader?

i agree with bluegrass, i found the same plug on mine when i was going to install my electric brake controller and the guy at auto zone said thats what it was and sold me a kit that plugs into it for the brakes. most trucks have them and they are just tucked away under the dash.

Trailer brake controller pigtail is on the right side of the driver and has 6 pins and runs on up into the center of the dash. That is on the left side of the driver and has two pins.
