ok the truck runs and idles fine but it has been slowly loosing power and there has been a loud air rushing noise from the back of the passenger side of the motor that has gradually been geeting louder. i have been doing some other searches about possibly a y pipe or up pip leak at the flex pipe and everyone says that they r getting a exhaust fume smell in the cab but im really no getting that. not to mention that it seems like the louder this noise gets the worse my fuel mileage gets. the noise only comes when the truck is under load or when ur just getting into the throttle. it def does not have the take off power that it use to and not to mention i went to power break it the other night while acting foolish and it couldnt even produce enough power to roll the tires over. i dont have a boost gauge so i cant tell that if it does have a leak and its not letting me create the boost that it should create. also its an o3 6.0 and its all stock but the exhaust is stright piped. a little help would be great and if its what i think it is should i just go ahead and do the egr delete since im that far in if i have to repair it?

 

you have a cracked y pipe or up pipe I think you nailed it

try to hang a string on a stick see if it blows around
have you had the turbo off recently

 

no never had the turbo off but if i do have to change the y pipe or up pipe then i think it would be best for me to just go ahead and do the egr delete and turbo rebuild or clean since it will be off for the repair.. if any body else has any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. the more advice the better!! thanks blade35
