Hi Everyone!
I got serious issues.
I was driving from New York to Florida, water in fuel light came on, stopped and drained sorta. Hexed fitting would not loosen, two bottom screws did. Light would come on then go off. Later, I thought I popped a tire on the trailer behind and pulled over immediately. Tires were all good. Left truck running and visually inspected for lost oil, gas whatever no signs. Got back in and new immediately there was something wrong. No power. 45 mph uphill and 75 downhill from PA to FL, 65 on level interstate. 29hours later I was delirious but back safe.
No smoke, ever. Parked it and went back to work.
Buddy put scanner on it. Turbo mechanical failure.
New Turbo? Could my turbo pop and fail?
Someone offered me a used one for cheap. I didnt like it. When I had mine out prior to trip the vanes were perfect. This one looks worn. Can I exchange parts in Turbos if I have one to work with?
Help me I miss my truck.
Yep I think I will get a new one cause it didn't want to seat until parts cleaner and wipe down.
Its not very common to blow that connection. It does suck when the entire tube exlodes though. My truck blew that connection but it was just after I reinstalled my EGR cooler and i forgot to tighten it.
how old are your intercooler boots? if you can't remember I would replace them all and keep the old ones as spares... Riff Raff sells a nice set for a good price
