I can't say with certainty on the Jeg's COP's, but Accel is a good brand. Have you checked Rock Auto at RockAuto Auto Parts for Motorcraft or Standard COP's? They might be available for less $ than Jegs.
I've seen Jegs and Accel COP's cost less than OEM. Do the work just as well?
I have to disagre!
The Jegs and accel COPs will work ,but will NOT work as long as the stock motorcraft COPs will last.
Jegs and Accel sell japanese junk!
The Motorcraft COP is much better made. So you get a better quality control on them.
Yes they are expensive, But rockauto has them for the best price,(about 45 bucks a piece)I think.and they will last about 3 times longer then the other ones. So you actually save money in the long run.
i guess i got lucky about 75,000 miles ago i put in 8 cop from ebay at 120 for the set and shes still running on them but i think im due for new plugs here soon as it is idling a bit rough on occasion and kinda sputters as i accelerate if im not full into it
Again, fellas, I would not have a problem using the Standard brand of COP's. Standard has long been an OEM supplier in the electroinics for the auto industry. Standard is a little less expensive than Motorcraft at Rock Auto. The parts look identical from what I could tell. It would not surprise me a bit if Standard manufactures Motorcraft COP's. And just so everyone knows, most of the MC stuff is made in Japan also.
Greg I'll echo your observations 100%! My Granatelli's don't look a bit different from the OEM's apart from them being blue. If I had it to do over I don't believe I'd have veered from the stock COP's or if replacing one would opt for the OEM's or the Standard brand you recommend. Where can they be obtained?
