I'M going to pick it up 2mor. A 53 with a 289/c6 and stock everything else. Post some pics. 2mor. My mom said to bring it to her house and hook it to her boat and don't forget to put gas in both. LOL This one may take me some time to restore. He said the drip rail was in poor shape. Can this be bought ? Can it be cut off ? What yall think ?
I would recomment to keep the rail also, If you look carefully the drip rail is welded to a flange that is the same sheet metal as the rest of the cab. It would take a real long continuous weld to close it up if it was removed.
I removed the drip rail on my 55. Just have to take your time. if you do it, round the top front edge of the door and match the body to it. Wish I had seen this.
Project??!!! Restore??!!! Heck put some gas in it and drive it home. Paint it when you get a chance. It looks good Dale. You gonna paint this one yellow too?
Nice solid ride, how do you do it????? I lok forward to the progress on the truck. Personally I would just make it safe and drive it for a while just to get to know your truck.
