only issue I see is the TX plate.
I'd rather have rust than TX plates.

I like it, like said above I would make it safe and drive it. But looking at your other truck I am sure your going to make it look fantastic. Nice find and please keep us posted on any progress.

I just got home with it. 5 hours of driving there and back. What can i say it was built in 53 and it shows. He said he put brakes on it but i can't find any. LOL C6 with a homemade shifter in the floor. THATS GOT TO GO !!!! someone tell me what will fit up to the stock steering box ? I remember something about a chevy van but what year ? I know a 51 from front to back but i got alot of ?????? about this 53. I need a pic. of the driprail so i will know what it should look like.

why take out the oe box ???? if you want a quicker ratio try an f600 steering box , of which i am looking for one myself , as they are . after that go up to the stickies / tech articles at the top of the page and there is a whole list of various parts , pieces and donors to rob things from . you can get column saver kits from hot rods , and mid fifty , and others to couple a later column to the oe box . if you just want power steering then look at the gm box conversion from mid fifty or the toyota swap . personally i found the manual brakes , steering , and trans a blessing as no one wants to borrow the 53 or the 52 as they require a minimal effort to drive unlike all the late model cushy-mobiles with automatic everything and power but wipers . so no one but i drives 'em !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
