Yep, snapped the dipstick. I got it out with some needle nose, but I need a new one now...where can I get one other than a junkyard? There aren't any in my area
I hate the new style I can't see the reading on my oil its still clear after 1000 miles I'm trying to find the old style, why won't people leave stuff alone
ive got a fumoto quick drain plug so im not worried about seeing what the oil looks like, i think i just have to get the new crappy style. mine snapped right below the handle, flush with the bottom of the plastic.
If that is really what the seller has that is the old style and WAAAYYYY better than the new style that I got yesterday. OP jump on that deal! You can use a vacuum cap as a replacement for now.
I will post a pic of the new style dipstick.
You can see from the photos the new style does not have the bluing of the old style. Also the blade in narrower and the T handle feels pretty flimsy in comparison.
My old blade is ok so I may machine a replacement.
like i said mine snapped off right at the handle, flush with the plastic...if you can repair them i'd be willing to send you mine, im still going to get that ebay replacement though...i've got the handle from the original dipstick stuck in the tube, so its sealed
