Intermittent long crank

Ok I'll make this as understandable as possible, I have 06 f-350 w 67,340 on odometer truck has been great untill I had ficm failure. Mostly hwy miles ford replaced ficm under warranty ran good then about 6 months ago it would stall while driving at slow speed fire rite back up then like nothing was wrong. No cel no signs of anything wrong. Truck did this a few times more, brought truck to dealer (different dealer that did ficm and turbo(sticking vanes), warranty ran out, now it's from pocket, dealer did icp and ipr, they could not get it to stall which I haven't had ether lately but every once in a while it takes a long time to get started hot or cold. Truck doesn't do this alot just once every 6 times or so. Sometimes if I wait for glow plug light to shut off I will re cycle key once more and vroom she starts. Its not really long crank but more than normal, I am not sure what direction to go in I will be doing standpipe and Stc upgrade in a few weeks just to make more bulletproof. I was leaning towards glow plug relay but had to ask everybody what they think, no egr problems always run treatment every tank motorcraft filters since new perfect maintenance with synthetic, and had Hpop pressure test at dealer twice all seems good but dealer doesn't want to waste any more of my money( pockets thank Otis ford ) any suggestions

it could be a HPOP leak. Mine had random extended cranks before the STC failed completely

you need to monitor icp and ipr at hot idle
ipr should be 20-30 percent duty cycle
icp should be around 600-650
if the ipr is higher than 30 percent you probably have a high pres oil leak

have you checked your batterys, fuel filters, fuel pressure, ficm volt, last oil change

Blade 35 dealer just did icp and ipr shouldn't they have checked that they say everything was in check and I just did oil change w syn ,fuel filters coolant flush w distilled water batts are good but will recheck again ( only 7 months old ) and pretty much asked dealer to do Stc and standpipes but they kept telling me that Hpop pressure was fine??, so I am doing all upgrades as soon as weather get warmer and Bpd egr cooler gets in also ficm is new had failure in June so it's coming up on first birthday should I check it anyway

you said the problem was intermittened it may not have been acting up at the dealer when they tested it. Im not saying to replace the ipr or icp just watch the numbers at hot idle if your ipr is more than 30 percent at hot idle you may have a leak somewhere dummy plugs stand pipe stc fitting and so on
check the fuel pressure for a week pump
do you have gauges

Blade 35 thank you maybe it did not act up for them even though they charged me for 6 hrs of driving and idle time but anyway I do not have gauges but do have access to borrow them I will most definitely check ASAP thank you it will give me a real piece of mind when I find exactly what prob is then no more guessing I like my dealer but they just seemed to not be able to pin point what it was with out scaring me into 3300 dollar repair for everything that's when I said I ll do my self my labor is free and I will clean top to bottom when truck is under the knife ah wrench what should I look for in pressure or pressure drop over how long. Once again thank you so much for your info

for gauges I go with the scangaugeII its cheap 160.00 and they maybe on sale right now it came up in a thread a few days ago
ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool

It will monitor most the important stuff ficm, icp, ipr, icpv, boost, eot, ect, volt, map, vgt and alot more

it wont do fuel pressure or egt
have you checked for wire chaffing
fuel press should be no less than 45 psig at any time

I had 3 or 4 extended cranks. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG crank. Then it stumbled on me at a light so I floored it and ran the light. Then i was almost home and stopped at another red light and it died and didn't restart until the STC fitting was replaced
