Local yard has v codes and a few sets of rear springs from f250s but unable to identify code on them. All they can tell me is some are 5 leaf + 1 or 6 leaf sets.
Anyone know how to identify? I did search forum for a while and couldn't come up with a thread to answer.
Great thing is I can get all the springs plus blocks for $400. Didn't think that was bad and they are off a 2004 with 50,000 miles.
Now I have 2" of clearance going into our garage........I really want to do the swap but momma will kill me if she can't have her rig in the garage.......think it will still fit?
2000 V10 4x4 with 170K tired springs. Cross my fingers.
If your stock springs are that tired I think you may have some garage fitment issues with the V/B swap. My B codes were 6 leaves, thats 4 long leaves in the main pack and 1 bottom thick plate leaf as well a single top overload leaf that has to be removed to avoid A/C line damage on the Excursion. I modded both my front and rear packs so I don't have useful info on how much lift you might see.
Heres a link to a thread I started while trying to ID my springs, maybe it will help with yours, many thanks to forum member Red Ex. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...and-codes.html
Check your garage door opener settings. You can move back the open/stop switch on the electric door opener and gain an inch or so. It worked great for me. If you need a pic, let me know.
Thanks for the repsonses all. I'll take a look at the garage door and see if I have any more to gain by adjusting the stop. Fortunately my father-in-law used to install them, so he can help me with that.
