Leaf Spring Codes
I couldn't find this info in a search, so can anyone tell me if the spring codes or part numbers are on the springs themselves? I am trying to find a set of stock springs from a diesel SD to put under my V10 to get a couple inches of lift without add-a-leaf or mini spring packs. If I find springs that are not on a truck can I find a code or number on the spring to tell me what it is? I am thinking about hitting up some of the local 4X4 shops to see if they have any take-off springs and I am sure they won't be able to tell me what SD they came off of.

There are part #'s, codes on the springs, BUT they are not easily decifered. I think even ford parts guys have difficulty with those #'s, as they have no rhyme or reason to them. To many different spring codes out there to make it a simple task. The easiest is to look on the door jamb for the spring codes, but I don't know if the wreckers are all that quick to take that info down when they pull them off. Even just telling you they are from so and so year from so and so truck won't help, because of all the different options out there. Good luck.
Are you looking for the w or the x codes? Some of the fellas in the X forum have used them, maybe you can search in there and get one of them to post the #'s directly from the springs for ya.
