V10 miss and codes

Out of the blue my '01 V10 developed a miss. Turned it off, loaded some furniture, turned it on and it had a noticible studder. Just now going about 45 on brand new asphalt it feels like you hit a bump when it misses.

My question is, will it throw a code at some point? I see mention of codes showing what cylendar is having the miss but my SCT dealie doesn't show anything and no light on the dash.

Not all the time.

You can pull a coil off while idling and see if it makes any difference. If it studders more, then that one pulled was still good. Do it until the one you pull does not have any effect.

I was hoping to avoid the elimination process, its not horrible but its noticeable so I'll give it a bit to see if it spits a code then. Its not a daily driver but its probably had 50 miles on it since I first noticed it. It rides like a truck, so I had to get the conditions just right to get a good sense of the problem at speed. Tires make a decent hum also.

I've only had it a couple months if that, so I have no idea whats original or how long its been since replaced. The cops are all motorcraft at least.

thanks

I would replace the plugs and rubber boots if you don't know what was replaced. That way, you'll know where you stand as far as that goes. Also, it may clear up your misfire.

Get the misfire counters read, that'll tell you exactly which cylinder it is. However, the hunt-and-peck method might be cheaper

I take it that's something done with a fancier tool than I have by the mention of not-cheap.
