I haven't been on here for some time because I have had no problems. The search didn't turn up too many hits for P0264. Out of nowhere today the truck started to idle rough and run rough at low speed. No smoke at all, just missing like crazy. I hooked up the torque app. P0264 code but no engine light. The FICM was replaced 2 summers ago and it shows 48V. Battery voltage is 12.7 at idle. It starts fine no problem. Less than 10k ion the fuel filters. I have it scheduled at Ford in the morning. Any ideas on what I am facing? Thanks in advance.
#2 injector circuit open or defective coil. It could also be a FICM failure. Your voltage is critically low at 12.7. With an OEM alternator it should be 13.2-13.8.
Have you checked your FICM voltage while starting the truck? If it's below 45 at ANYTIME it has failed.
OK. Now that I'm home and could look at it closer. The ficm never got below 48V when cranking the truck to start. The battery still read 12.2-12.7 at idle. Checked the batteries and driver side pos post was corroded. Cleaned both batts and hooked up the charger. It is taking a charge and appears to be low. I don't have my multimeter here so I can't check each battery. I'll let it cahrge a while and see what happens. By the way, after I cleaned the batts, I started it and it smoothed out for about 5 seconds, then went back to the rough idle. I'll read the codes again after the battery charges. The FICM only has about 20K on it new from Ford. The injectors have about 60K. Thanks for the help so far.
So the next time I checked it I got P0266. I took it to the dealer and they say the #2 cylinder injector is bad. Of course they replace #5 and #6 also. I picked it up yesterday and it ran perfect. It ran perfect this morning. I started it this afternoon, and now its running worse than before the dealer touched it. Same code shows up, P0266 cylinder #2 low circuit voltage or whatever. What could this be? I'm out $2300 and its got to go back. I'm sure they will try to tell me its something else and make me pay more.
I had a #8 code on my truck instead of brining it to the dealer I thought I would try rev x first. It now runs better than ever, no more rough running or idle. Something to look into. I will eventually replace them but not at this time now
I would take it back, maybe they did not get something tight, or left something loose.
The code could be still in there from the initial problem. Did they clear the codes when they were done, not sure if that's routine practice or not. If it is repaired it should clear itself, but may take a few drive cycles.
Are you Thinking of What I think your Thinking partsman? run 6.0run hehehe
Yeah. At least he'd know he was getting the correct information.
If it was my truck and it was still throwing a code for #2 cylinder after they fixed it they'd fix it for nothing because they didn't fix it the first time although P0264 and P0266 are for different things.
Oh yea no dout in my mine, Anthony would make it right, so 2300 and the dealer is still squeezeing , Time to put the S*^t kickers on and let them have it.
do these codes have anything to do with pressure like ICP or ICPV? or strickly Inject?

No. One is a contribution balance code and one is a low circuit code both for the same cylinder. I'm thinking he might have gotten a bad injector.
