Cant find TDC marks?

Cant find TDC marks?
I have no clue where the TDC marks are on my 302? I looked everywhere? The engine was rebuilt not long ago by the PO. I was thinking maybe he painted over them? Where are they suposed to be? I thought they were suposed to be on the thing that the fan mounts to? I am totaly lost on this one? my Dizzy has a mark in it that shows TDC when the rotor is on it, but im not to sure how acurate that is?

You should have one of two setups (atleast that I've seen) One, timing marks will be on the Damper(harmonic balancer) and then you will have sort of a bracket mounted to the engine with an Arrow pointing at it.
Two, you will have a bracket with the Timing marks on it and a small Line cut into the Damper which you line up with the markings on the bracket.... (I say bracket, but it is actually just a small metal piece bolted to the engine)

got it, they were covered in grease and dirt, I couldnt even tell there was a tab of metal, it was bad, now its all clean and ready to time! thanks!
