Bought a used 2009 F150 Supercrew about 2 months ago. Has 20000 miles on it.
The truck came with one key and no code for the keyless entry. I went to my local stealership, and they wanted $180 for a key and a code. I read that the code for the keyless entry is on the side of the computer, but I'm figuring that the computer is buried deep in the dash. Also, I can get an OEM key cheaply on Ebay, but how do I go about getting it programmed?
All help greatly appreciated!
You must have the 2 original keys to be able to program an extra key. The only other option that I know of is having the dealer do it. You should have negotiated with the dealer for an extra key when you bought the truck.
Before you go thru all that trouble, check your owners manual packet. I have a card- looks like a credit card- and it has the factory 5 digit door code # on it. Unless the previous owner changed it. Good luck and welcome to FTE!
shotgunz - Thanks! I'll try it this afternoon after work.
D8chumley - Thats the problem - the card is not in the manual packet. The stealership I bought it from takes that kind of stuff out, then tries to sell it back to you. Though I'll have to get a key from them, I knew that code was somewhere on the vehicle.
Thanks to all for thier assistance. I'm luvin my F-150!

Reason: Spelcheck is your friend!
If the computer on your '09 is in the same location as on my '10 XLT Screw, it is visible on the passenger-side of the firewall in the engine compartment.
I just looked - there is a sticker above the three plugs, but I think that is for the computer itself. The sticket is about 3/16" wide and about 6" long.

I just looked at the label on the computer of my truck and none of the numbers matched the keyless entry code on the original card that came with my '10 XLT Screw.

The code you're referring to is the PCM box code. This is not the same as the keypad code, nor is it the complete calibration hex code.
As an example, my PCM box code is PKP3, but my hex code is RXFM4GA.

And you're welcome deputy!
I knew that. I was only replying to the post by deputypq920 that he had read that the keyless entry code could be found on the computer. I was only confirming where the computer was located and that the code was not on it.
When you get the second key programmed, I recommend you immediately buy a third (or even fourth) and program it (them) too (just in case you lose one). Blanks can be bought on the internet for $14-20.
