i think he ment glowshift not glowgauge. i have a glow shift and have been through a sender already. i dont have that extender thing yet but its going on soon!!! make sure whoever gets it to order the adapter piece first
did all the moter vibration raise hell with the sending unit
blade,
I wired it a while ago and dont remember....just make sure it is on a keyed circuit. As far as the vibration....I wasnt going to chance it...some guys threaded it roght on and have been going strong with it that way....I just wasnt going to chance it. I provided the link below.
....if you buy the line I am talking about you don't need an adapter...it is made specifically for our application.
To mie it makes sense to do it this way. IMO the sending unit is too large to hang it on the front of the engine. Some will say it is ok and it might be....but better safe than sorry IMO.
Do you all recommend it? id like a small tune that will help with the trans shift points and some power while towing (econo tune??), but i dont want to go blowing my head gaskets its an 06 with 47xxx and dont want to mess it up. I plan on getting the bulletproof EGR cooler soon too. What should i get for gagues? The scangague II or actual gagues in an Apillar?
Just wanting some opinions here, dont want any criticism by me asking this, i am still educating myself with these diesels. Thanks in advanced for anyone who posts back
Just bought a Bulletproof cooler last night with SCT tuner... same thing as your situation...I have 130,000 on a near perfectly running 6.0 but I noticed the temp is up a tad. New cooler, SCT delete, tried unplugging but the CEL came on and the mpg dropped 2-3 mpg...so we'll see if the head bolts hold.
I'm pretty easy on the truck any towing is light hunting stuff...
