Crawl underneath and look at it and make sure you need one, it mates up with an equalizer
on the outside of the driver's side frame rail just behind the cab:
You'll need to look at the equalizer, as ctubutis suggested. There is a cable running from the cab to the equalizer, and there are 2 cables running from equalizer to each of the rear drums. Check and see how much slack is in the cab to equalizer portion of the cable. Also check slack from equalizer to each drum. You might be able to take up slack by adjusting the equalizer.
If you in fact need a new cable, the passenger side is longer, and therefore a different part number than driver's side. Autozone listed several different possibilities, the differences between them have to do with wheelbase length. Do you have long bed or short bed?
Be aware that there is a spring inside the park brake control. When it breaks, the pedal goes to the floor. Ford did not sell the spring by itself, only furnished with the park brake control.
There are three different parking brake cables: One (-2853-) routes from the park brake control to the equalizer.
The truck's wheelbase makes a difference as to the length of the front cable.
There are two rear cables. These route from the equalizer to each rear wheel.
Edit: These F250 part numbers do not apply to the OP's truck, because...he does not have an F250.
F2TZ-2A635-G (replaced E0TZ-2A635-L & E7TZ-2A635-F) .. Right Rear Park Brake Cable.
F2TZ-2A635-H (replaced E0TZ-2A635-M & E7TZ-2A635-G) .. Left Rear Park Brake Cable.
These two cables fit 1980/92 F250's and some 1993/97 F250's.
The truck's wheelbase has nothing to do with the length of the rear cables. If it did, I could not have posted the Ford part numbers.

Just replaced both rear parking cables on my 86 F250. There is a slight difference on the left side rear parking brake cable. One is listed fitting to 2/86 the other from 2/86 onward. The latter one being a little over two inches longer. It is still best to measure as my truck built in 8/86 took the earlier shorter one. Two inches does not sound like much but trying to "lose" the extra two inces caused severe bends that sent me back to the parts store. The right side is the same. One other thing if the front is broken it is still good to check the rear mine rears had not broken but were so stiff as to not let the rear brakes off completely. Chuck

Guessing doesn't cut it, especially when it comes to Ford parts. The wheelbase is listed on the Certification Label.
1980/89 F250: There is no such thing as a short bed Flareside.
Edit: I just looked at your album pics, your truck has 5 lug wheels, so it's not an F250 (F250's have 8 lug 16" wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle). It's either an F100 or F150.
1980/83 F100: Some have 5 lug wheels on a 4.50" bolt circle pattern, some have 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle pattern.
All 1975/96 F150's have 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle pattern.
---------------------------------------------------------------- csobusa: There is no longer any before/from 2/86 because Ford has updated all the F250's rear parking brake cable part numbers. See post #5.
And I repeat, the rear cables have nothing to do with the wheelbase, only the front cable is affected.

AC Delco and Wagner list similar differences in the production months. These
The difference is less than 2 inches. Ford no doubt list the longer one, its up to you to route it. It doesn't pay them to stock two sizes for twenty five yr old trucks. These design differences in the rear cables have nothing to do with the wheel base but more with the way it was routed. Just sharing my experience in replacing the rear brake cables on my 86 F250. It was much eaiser to use the right length cable while they are still available. Chuck
