Midget mudders?

Well, the ranger has pretty well broke the bank for now. Prolly not lifting it for a long time, as I have too many irons in the fire as it is. I did end up with a set of 15x7 steelies for it, so I'm thinking (near future)...why not get some diggs for it anyway?
The truck will probably take me to work (12 miles one way) occasionally, and around the farm. Maybe even a couple trips to the bone yard. So it's not neccessarily a pavement princess.
That being said, I'd like to find the cheapest, most aggressive tires I can fit? I'd really like to find anything between 29-31" tall, and no more than 10.50" wide. Ideally a 31x9.50 would be my pick. not exactly sure what metric sizes fall In there, either. Noise isn't an issue, but I'd like something that wears well. I've scoured google for the last few hours, but I keep turning up all the usual junk. Another thing is, I'm not sure about things like "radial tsl" vs the bias. I know the bias version wear pretty quick, so initially I run from a tsl...so I don't know? Does interco make a decent wearing tire?
Also, it doesn't have to be interco. I've seen a few generic meats that look pretty gnarly.

Anyones advice, experience, or resourcefulness is greatly appreciated! Thanks fellers...now let the opinions fly!!

I have had real good luck with Hancock dynamic mud terrains. last set I had on an F150 went over 50k miles.

Here is my old ranger with a set of them on it.

and here is a set next to a set of TSL's for comparison

I've got a set of them skinny little swampers. They look great on a set of Suzuki Samurai 15x5.5 wheels, as that's how I got them.

rob, did you ever have any chunking issues with them? a buddy had a set on a mainly street driven f150 and it was losing whole tread blocks from the center and side lugs.. kind of scary looking.

Monster, how tall is your ranger? Looks good btw. That's about where I'd like mine eventually, with a possible 302 in it. Still want a turbo 2.3L just to be diff. A supercharged 3.8 would be even cooler!!

Kjett...what kind of swampers could I get away with on the street (as far as wear)? That's what I'm really shootin for, but I'm not 100% dead set on them...yet, anyway.

The couragias that 77 suggested are pretty gnarly. I also like the "enduro mt" they have on that site...bit they don't make em in a 30x9.50. The 31's are lookin more and more like my size of choice. Just a little scared that my little 2.3 will be a bigger turd than it already is

Dan if your talking about the TSL's that was a super stock class mud drag truck. the Han***** were the street tires the TSL's were just used when racing.

Not sure what to tell you about the height. That is a ranger body mounted on an early bronco frame. I believe it was 4" of lift on the bronco suspension and it has a 302/C4 in it.

those tires are 31-10.50s on the ranger and 33-12.50 on the F150

I run 235/75/15 MasterCraft Courser MT tires on my XJ. They're not that noisy, wear like iron, and hold their own off road.

I have had probably a dozen sets of them and never had a lug come off.

My brother in law runs the coursers on his 96 ranger. I like them a lot, but not sure where to find them. I did just pick up a set of desert dawg recaps for $100, but they are looking like an off road only tire. Gnarly as hell, though. Are those coursers reasonable as far as $$$?

I think they retail out around $150 a tire? I'm not completely sure as I got the tires to clear part of a debt owed. I think my friend paid $120 a tire using his work discount. As for finding them, I'd call around. My friend works at a truck repair center and their tire supplier carries them, so that's how he got them. Wish I could be more help on the questions.

Ahh youre doing fine, the effort is appreciated. I can't get over how freaking expensive tires are. 7 years ago I could got a brand new set of 35" general grabbers for less than what a lot of these little meats are going for! Granted, 7 years is a while...but damn. Rediculous!
