I have a 06 f250 fx4 no keyless entry. My question is if I buy a Ford factory one is it plug and go or will I be splicing wires? I know a lot of the wires for accessorys are already there just not hooked to anything. The cab lights I just done were apiece of cake.
Thanks for link to site. According to the site I DONT have RKE. I tried the key thing and it didn't go into the program mode. But the dealer it pays like 5 hours to install.
On an '06, if you don't have the numbered keypad on the door, you don't have keyless entry. It was not standard on an XLT, but was often purchased as an option. The option was called Advanced Security Group.
I have never heard of anyone successfully adding factory keyless entry. But there are excellent aftermarket systems available, with alarms if you want.
$230.00 for factory unit. And I thought if it just was a plug and play unit the install can get any easier. I just didn't know if the factory plugs were hidden somewhere under the dash, or if someone knows where the factory unit is at in the truck.
