Spindle nut retainer/washer
Anybody know where to buy the spindle nut retainers? (indexed washer with 11 tabs) It's for the rear end of a '78 F250 4x4 dana 60. I went to 4 different part stores with no luck. Any help would be appreciated...

unless you go to a yard and remove an old one, looks like the newer style is all that is still made
you have to have the newer nuts also
there is a pin on the nut that aligns with a hole in the washer then another nut is tightened against it
since tightening the outer nut,with a pin on it damages the pin, but does lock the nut, these are claimed to be one time usage

Mine nuts were punched and chiseled to beat heck. I also wanted to change them to get things back to the way they should and couldn't find them. Ran into a guy that told me to go the the truck parts ( as in tractor trailer/semi ) store. I went there and told the guy what I needed and he said he'd have them tomorrow. Sure enough I have all brand new stuff now! So try a truck parts store!
