Proto Fab Products Page does anyone have one of these on their truck? i did a quick search and didn't find anything. i don't have the equipment or time to build my own but this is what i was aiming for. i just want to hear if anyone likes or dislikes and more pics would help. it comes raw but i am in luck and i can throw it on the automated powder coat line at work and paint it whatever color i want.
I have a protofab rear bumper w/ tire carrier on my 70 Bronco...not what you are after, but great quality and easy people to work with. They do great work.
thanks for the response cause that is actually helpful that they are easy to work with and make good quality products. i think this might be something i save up for. i have an xd9000i warn winch laying around that i pulled off my landcruiser today that needs a new home.
actually i have a guy interested in my parts truck and i think if i sell my parts truck i am getting this and i will post pics. when i have it powder coated i am just going to have it done in black.
thats what i was thinking to. and they are alot cheaper then the arb style bumpers which i really don't care much for the looks for on our trucks. the tube offroad style bumper looks right at home.
I plan to make a plate one for mine and may save the templates/drawings to make them producable. I'm thinking I can pull off something much cleaner than what ARB offers and for the same or hopefully less $$$.
if you have all the equipment like sheer press, welder and most importantly a template i think a person could whip a bumper out pretty quick. i know at work it is so easy doing things that i have access to the sheer press, miller wire welders, industrial bandsaw and an entire machine shop i can send my blueprints to and they will laser cut for me but they would frown on me doing a huge undertaking like a complete custom bumper.
I have most of the above, but what I don't have my buddy a couple doors does. He has a heavy steel and custom fabrication job shop so he has all of the above including a CNC plasma cutter in house.
This is a little different but might give someone another idea. New Bumper Grill Guard. I'm with Chase and want to build a plate bumper but would also like a grill guard along with it. I'm hoping I might incorporate my idea with Autofabs guard.
I've never been a big fan of how John (Autofab) goes around the headlights with his bumpers. I will be doing a all tube bumper like that for my '74 F-100 though.
I've got LOTS of pics of different ones of those...
