Hey guys, it's been a while. I was looking at dealer sites and came across a 2009 fully loaded Plat. The truck has 87000 miles on it(I would think they are all highway, to have that many in just a couple of years). They are asking 26 and change for it, although I will try to get them lower. I was just wondering what everyone thought. My wife finally got some of her settlement money so I will finally get something (F-150 of course), I have just missed out so much before.
hey mike! ford is offering 0% on new trucks again, not sure if that helps you if you were thinking about going new. as for the platinum, if you could get them down a little on it i think its a good deal (assuming its in mint condition). those platinums sold for a LOT new, so used they will still hold some value over an xlt or lariat. good luck!
Thanks Aaron. The truck is gorgeous and looks mint. I am going tomorrow to actually look at it. If I don't get that one they have an ecoboost I want try and get. That platinum is such a sweet looking ride with all the toys though, so it should be a tough decision.
I was just over in the SD forum and came across a fire department replacing an old truck with this new F550:
the truck its replacing is a 1970 F250 sport custom, they are selling it for $13,500. It only has 7,000 miles
Both of those trucks make me want to be a fireman even more!!
Mike, I say go for the Ecoboost if you can. It is a pretty impressive sounding setup they have going. Platinums are pretty sharp, but seem like a little more fluff than necessary, IMHO, especially for what you pay for them. 26 grand is a LOT for a truck with 87k on the odo, as far as I am concerned, highway or not.
