good afternoon FTE. my friend wanted me to help install a new exhaust on his jetta but i quickly declined after realizing how much of a PITA it is on those little cars. being able to roll under my truck and un-do a few hangers ftw.

and somehow on a 2008 a bolt was rusted so bad an impact gun couldnt take it off after sitting with pb blaster for 24 hours. so i was really quite useless there. he has a friend thats real good with cars that can help him though
and i was using a jack and had jack stands, but wasnt sure where to put them. and when his friend helped him before he didnt watch him, and was texting instead....
Got my tractor running! It needed a new coil and I also put in a new plug and oil for good measure. It runs and drives but, the blades don't spin. When I engage the blades the belt starts billowing smoke. I'll look into that more tomorrow, could be a lodged stick for all I know now.
oh and also, "kids these days" what about them? i gave it a shot trying to jack up his car and see if i could help a friend out. better than the average high school kid going off after school to do some drugs, thats wicked cool
I had a 1973 Mazda RX3 and instead of using the puny scissor jack that came with the car I went out and bought a small bottle jack.
I jacked up one corner of the car by its frame and a few seconds later the jack punched through the bottom of the "frame."
So I had to get the scissor jack out to lift the car again so I could work my jack back out. This was my first experience with a uni-body car
It was then that it registered with me that the OEM scissor jack had a special shoe to straddle the seam formed in the frame to spread out the load.

The picture was originally taken to show the ground clearance. When I opened the picture then I saw what appears to be jack stand crimps into the nerf bar. The other nerf bar has a long, deep, straight, scratch. I'm waiting to hear back from my email to see if anyone fesses up, could be the dealership or the alignment shop that I went straight to.
