140v IDM
I ordered some 75K resistors to do the mod on IDM. Just to check if they were right, I tested them with my multimeter, and they only give a little over 70K. Is that normal or did I get resistors that aren't right. And can I use them? I have the 100V IDM.

check out my resistor mod here and look at the reading I get on the tester.
The bigger the resistance you want, the bigger the difference can be if you get a plain ole resistor.
Thats why you want the metal film 1% tollerance resistors.

hmm, that was outa focus, stupid me.
if you can see the lines on the resistor, one of the bands represents the tolerance on the resistor. Its the last or the 2nd to last.
I so rarely use the color codes anymore I don't rmember the values or which is what.

Mine are the 1/2 WATT 1% metal film. They look exactly like the one in your picture. I'm wondering if my meter is right. When I test my 10 and 4.7 K resistors, they show 9.9 and 4.3.

well, put the leads of the ohm meter together and see what you get.
Thats how you test them.
but for 10k and 4.7k resistors, thats about correct.
They are always a little off.
I left all my IDM mod resistors at home on the desk, so i cannot test any for you or send you a new one.
I ordered a bunch to send out to people. haha.
Only Jleal has gotten one from me though.

Make sure when you are testing the resistor that your not using your fingers to hold the leads onto the resistor as well.
Not everyone effects the readings, but sometimes it can throw the readings off.
People with generally moist hands tend to have pretty good resistance while touching the leads.
Try it and see what you get. One of those dorky things we do in electronics.

Ok I'm an idiot. I tested them again without holding them in my fingers (before I read your last post), and they are at 74.5. So, thank you for the help, looks like on my way to doing the mod.
