I have High Hopes for my KImber Ultra Carry 2, .45. But presently she is sitting at Kimber getting a tune. So for now it is my Ruger p90. Hope to get the kimber back before the weather breaks, I amnot of the right size to be walking around with a full size .45 and think I am hiding it.
Kimber 45 ss tle II 5in , wilson combat mag , second choice , Glock 19 , 9mm with ghost ring tritium night sights , with the trigger set at about a 2 # trigger pull.....Lew
Absolute First choice:
Colt Gold Cup National Match
Alterations - Wolf 18.5 lb recoil spring, Wilson's drop-in Beavertail grip safety and 'Commander' hammer and Wilson's sear (Hand fitted by me!)
Pachmayr stocks.
100%+ reliable. Capable of shooting out the X-Ring at 50 yards and would be the one pistol I keep if I had to choose only one.
Second choice:
Glock G19 (9mm) Box stock. Accurate.
But seriously, what purpose? As most hand guns are for defense I would lean to the Proven Glock 17 or 19... But a high quality 1911 is just unparalleled.
My favorite is my Beretta Cougar 8000 but if I could only own one, it would have to be my Glock 26. Not too big for CC, not too heavy, reliable, fairly cheap plentiful ammo. The G30 is mighty tempting though.
