This is a premise I simply cannot accept. Sorry.

But my favorite would be a Combat Commander.

I'll shoot first with this one:

Brand: Dan Wesson of the late 80's or early 90's.
Model: 15-2
Caliber: .357 Magnum
Barrel: 4" or 6" heavy underlug vent rib for defense, 8" or 10" barrel for small game hunting. Used to be sold as a 'pistol pack with a 4", 6", 8", and a 10" barrel in a case along with a barrel changing tool.
Features: Easily exchanged barrels due to the way the barrels screw into the mainframe. Transfer bar firing pin similar to a Ruger, Taurus, or others instead of the hammer mounted firing pin of a Smith and Wesson. Cylinder latch on the left side in front of the cylinders on the mainframe makes this a better gun for left handed shooters like me.
Accessories: Would definitely want to add a set of combat grips. Would also add a possible laser sight to the 4" or 6" barrel for home defense.

I would want a S&W in 357 with a 4 inch barrel. It will always shoot & can shoot cheaper 38 special for practice.

What's the supposed cause of only being able to own one? I'd lean toward a 5" 1911, but if concealed carry was to be a part of every day life, then I'd opt for a commander size.

I happen to have that very revolver, with the 8" barrel, deadly accurate and perfect for hunting small game and even some whitetail (I took a four-pointer with it a few years back).

My favorite, though, is my Springfield XD-45 Tactical, with two hi-cap magazines (13 rounds each)...would really love to find a third mag (maybe even a fourth...would be nice if I could afford it!)
