it goes farther than that. I used to work for walgreens. Their policy is that if your drawer is short anything more than a dollar, you get written up. 3 write ups and your gone. I always count to make sure people are paying attention, whether is $20 or 10cents.
Not sure about the yard you go to, but after a while when a vehicle has been picked over enough they just crush it where I go. Hard to say that those injectors would have sold or would have been crushed. In a retail type business I would agree, but not scrap.
If they grew legs and walked out of the yard they certainly wont be there to sell. Then we all pay. Same goes for retail stores. Theft is theft no matter where it occurs. When I go to the pic and pull around here I dont see any signs saying if you see something you like or need just take it we dont mind. You will just put me out of business but thats ok go ahead.
I tell you my yard is more laid back than the one by my dad. The owner and the cashiers give me breaks and free admission all the time. When I go to leave, I tell them what I have in my pockets and tell them what the parts are that I have. I guess they give the guys that are always there a break for repeat business. Plus I am always bringing new people there also.
The yard at my dads place is very very strict and charge full price on everything. Their yard is also very unorganized and trashed.
As for the yard in question, this is one of about 15 I visit frequently. I know just about everyone there as well as most yards I go to. I travel to yards on a weekly basis putting some 400 miles a week just going to these yards. And I work a regular job. Summer months the yards stay open later so I can squeeze a yard or two after work. This is just the most recent event that has happened. I talk to security as often as possible I do my best to say hello to all the cashiers even if I don't find anything I want.
I was recently approached by a "parts panhandler" if you can believe that. The guy pulled a plastic bezel and radio from an import car then went around telling his tale of how he is not leaving without the part can anyone lend him a few dollars. That was the lowest of low, right next to the thief. And I despise them both. Yes security was notified about this clown and he was asked to leave. We know of only what we see, not of what actually happens. The ones who did it once will do it again, until they're caught. No one likes a snitch but when I have to pay more because of a thief, I say tell, then cut they're hands off.
just a note complimenting all the fellas here,,seems we all wish to keep our frineds in the usedparts business in business,,and teaching some morals to our kids,,in a time in my state where its growing into an entitlement area more and more,,nice to see people who do value their morals,,not a racist,,but i see kids of all colors now thinking they are entitled to whatever they want without earning anything,,just causeparents have always just given it to them,,when the present system of here ya go and u dont have to earn it crashes, look out usa you are gonna fall hard,,mayby we need to elect people who work for a living and like the fact they do,,,now enough about morals,,,gotta go post some on my column upgrade
