I'm looking through LMC Truck for a Rad support for my 6cyl F150 as it really needs one. And at the same time, if I do order one, I'll order one for the 7.3 Diesel at the same time as it badly needs one! Also needs a Radiator.
Heres the question,
LMC has 2 different selections for Diesel radiators, one for 399$ and the other is 439$?
399$ one says "Fits models WITHOUT heavy duty cooling option"
439$ one says "Fits models WITH heavy duty cooling option"
Ummm.....?? What's the difference in the 2? I have no idea witch one I have.
as far as the rad supports are concerned, i am pretty sure the with and without HD cooling referes to with or without air conditioning. i know they are different radiator and supports.
the with ac support has holes for the lines that the without does not have, and with AC has a larger radiator too.
and the diesel and gas rad supports are different also.
Meausre your rad and get the demetions of the new one. I did a swap many years ago i was 12 or 13 but anyway between the 2 trucks one rad was wider and thiner and the other was narrower and fatter. The wide one was in a 4spd no a/c ho heater, the other was an auto, a/c, and std heater, keep in mind they were both 84's and as far as i know they were stock motorcraft rads.
