My 79 came with no fan shroud. I have a 302 in my 79 w/o ac, so I ordered that fan shroud from LMC, and its to narrow sideways to fit my radiator.

Can anyone tell me how to ID my radiator and then get the shroud that fits it? It must be a bigger radiator, or one from a truck with a different engine....

 

Check the LMC catalog and see if they list shrouds for both a standard radiator and a heavy cooling rad.

LMC doesnt list for a heavy duty radiator. They list by the numbers on the stock fan shroud.... but I never had one. Thats what is making this so hard.

 

Since you're buying from LMC you may not want a used one, but I got the fan shroud for my truck, a 77 with 302 from an 80's van. I went to the junkyard knowing my spacing and just started looking and measuring found the perfect match on the van.

 

I have a couple used shrouds hanging in the garage! get some measurements and I will check against the ones I have!
