is there a stamp or something on trailer or the axle so you know the weight rating on the axle. i was told my trailer has a 5k axle when i bought it...thanks.
generally speaing, a 5 lug trailer axle will have the smallest weight ratings from a particular manufacturer. Next are the 6 lugs (1 axle), then the 6 lug tandem axles, then the 8's (generally always tandem), then there are tri-6's and tri-8's along side of dual, tandem dual, and I've even seen some tri-duals...
simply, the number of lug nuts on the axle is a good indication of the weight rating.
