Sure what it sounds like. SCT was very knowledgeable when I consulted with them when a friend tried to use HIS S3 to tune my truck. Of course his had a different computer code than mine and it prevented me from starting the truck. Called SCT and they got everything right for me and I ended up buying the S3 from my friend. Had it loaded with 3 tunes from Eric and it's been great for over a year now!

All of the OP's other post look legit
I am sure He had an SCT . ECM or user issue but it is not a common problem like He is promoting and SCT is very helpful when it is something they can actually help with

Except for this thread and one other post, he hasn't posted for almost one and a half years. The rest of his posts are from 2009.

This thread has been useful for me. I've got an SCT X3 coming this week and learned two things thanks to the knowledgeable people on this site.

#1 - Always return your truck to stock before doing a firmware upgrade to your device.
#2 - keep a copy of your stock tune at more than one location beyond your device

Thanks to all those that took the time to respond to the OP.

Guys, This isn’t a "who shot JFK conspiracy", and yeah I use all the forums to help me tinker with my 6.0. I do run my own business (nothing to do with autos) and work long hours and don't live on the forums. I chime in when I feel I can help answer a question but most usually others who are better qualified have already answered it. Yeah, more qualified people than me have been posting since 2009 !!!! Imagine that LOL.

The purpose of the post was to try and give fellow SCT users a heads up on the firmware. Like one of the common sense posters in this thread said, "if it ant broke, don't fix it". And yes I did have some issues with SCT customer support but one SCT employee stepped up and is helping me resolve what may have happened (no more 1 hour hold times on the phone).

I enjoy the forums and have learned so much. I also enjoy Cartmen the boys from South Park sitting in their hole and researching and conspiring about whom I am and my motives. Be warned Cartmen, it may be another week before I check this site again LMAO.

What I will seriously promise to those other 99% intelleigent users of this forum. When I have some factual information to post, I will share it in attempts to help others.

For the 1%, ponder this. Am I actually a real person that owns a real Ford 6.0 and a real SCT device and am I typing on a real computer...... OR, am I just a figment of your imagination ??????? Have fun ..........

Now for some factual info....
I did buy my SCT and custom tunes from what I consider to be the best tuner in the industry.

I didn't bring that up due to the fact you can't really blame a tune writer for a program that wouldn't transfer from a device. But guess what, the company I bought it from jumped in and began helping without me even asking.

I withhold their name on purpose until all this is resolved so as not to associate them with any issues I am having due to a 'hardware' issue.

When this gets resolved, I will let everyone know the following:
<OWho Helped
<OHow it was fixed
<OIf I continue to use the product

<OI don’t have the facts to share yet, so I won’t give any fodder to the conspiracy theorists less they somehow tie this to the price of gas and the radiation in the milk supply LMAO

You would be right, assuming I am not a figment of your imagination.

u use the sct to retreive it and then plug the sct into your computer and save a copy

it will help if say your sct is stolen or fails ,, SCT can use this to get it on your new or repaired device or if the SCT messes up the original stock file in it's memory this will help you also

LocoMike I knew this was a real prob for you however I did those googles you recommended and didn't find a bunch of people ranting over this known issue mostly just your threads ,

SCT while they may have a wait time has always been steller and even taken remote operation of many users computer to fix devices

they stayed on the phone while a slow download was being processed just to make sure it worked ,, and I read results like that on all the forums

sorry you had issues and I know you were just trying to warn folks
I just don't think it's a real widespread issue ?
good luck

And this is why we don't yell "fire" in a crowded theater
