I don't own an Excursion (I think it'd be fun when the family days come to get one), but I saw this on another forum and wanted to see if this was interesting to anyone here.
I used to own a Ranger and was a member on a Ranger specific forum, and one of the members picked up an Excursion. So far its build has it on bags, I think it's body dropped... big wheels and a 08-10 nose swap.
Excursions are actually very practical, they can haul many people, a ton of cargo and pull pretty much anything you want. I would say the only area they are not practical is at the pump, but I do not beleive there is any other vehicle as capable as the X that would not also suffer at the pump. Just my two cents

I don't know what you're talking about, my excursion is very practical at the pump. At CERN they spent I don't know how many billions to create the hadron collider in hopes of creating a mini black hole... My excursion came with a small black hole from the factory, at the end of the filler neck... Stuff goes in, without end, with no chance of ever coming out...
Did I read right in his thread where he wants to tow with that! OMG... If I see that coming with a trailer behind it, im going the other way. The front suspension doesnt look safe to drive on to me..... Just my opinion of course, it may be safe, but doesnt look it...
British Caravans are really lightweight and designed to be towed by estates and tiny saloons... The brits dont drive trucks like we do. A comparable size camper from over here would have that car doing wheelies :-)
It always made me wonder why we cant have super lightweight campers like those over here?
It is different.. to be honest I like it and I don't. It's a lot of craftsmanship. This guy has done other work as well and it's come out good. I didn't catch the trailer part... that is a little creepy but if it's done right I suppose it'll be alright. I'm normally a lift person but it's neat to see this, like the 2 door Excursion that was linked in the thread. I give him props for that. Even though I'm into the lifts and mud tires and offroading, a bagged or even static dropped truck would be fun. Never expected to see an Excursion though.
