Is there any reason why the Autometer ProComp Diesel tach would not work on my gas truck? A diesel tach only reads up to 6K RPM. I think a 8-10K tach in a truck that goes nowhere near that would be stupid.
Dakota digital makes an adapter to convert a gas tachometer to a deisel engine. It picks up (counts) the teeth on the flywheel. Planning on using one on my Cummins when I get it swapped in. Heres a link............. Universal Flywheel Tachometer Interface
I don't have anything for free...but when I redo my truck I will be wanting to use all Autometer guages. Professional ones like the Pro Comp's if you will. Looking to get that "racing" look. I love the 5" tachs with recall, but I just didnt want one that goes up to 10K. That would then just look foolish...Autometer has other cheaper tachs that go to the 5-6K range for gas vehicle, but they are cheap looking and not quality. Everything has to be top notch!!!
