Depends on the year model of the truck, 03 and 04 it won't. 05 and up it will, P0401 "low EGR flow".
Mine is on right now and that's the code I have (it's an 06). You can't notice any difference in drive-ability, and it actually has a little more "umph" to it down low. You will have to get a tuner in order to turn the EGR valve off through the PCM in order to get rid of the CEL. But, I would still leave it plugged in for fan operation.
i ment down in kerrville where i live. im sure stephenville would pass it easy. there are only two places in kerrville that will do a commercial inspection and one of them is our machanic and he knows i did the delete so he cant do it and the other place doesnt know it yet but made me strip my tent off my windows. pissed me off!!!

I'm pretty sure you can still get it inspected here...when I borrowed my dads truck for a few weeks, I got it inspected here in town, and the truck is registered in Rockwall County (by Dallas, emissions). It may be different with commercial though? I would try anyway Just go in like you have been getting it inspected there for years...
