Programming the garage door opener
Book says to crawl up on a ladder to the garage door motor and push the "learn" button. then run down to the cab of the pickup and push the button on the visor for 20 seconds.
Is there an easier way?

I usually park the vehicle where I can stand on the step rail or door sill of the driver's door to reach the "learn" button. That way I can reach up, touch the "learn" button and then reach down to the visor and click the opener button that I want to open the door. Usually it requires that I'm the only one in the garage so that I can straddle the parking spots.
Your other choice is to get a helper to hit one of the buttons while you hit the other.
