I know this isnt 6.0 related but I ordered my new wheels yesterday. I should have them by the end of day tomarrow. I will try to get them on Friday and get the truck cleaned and get some pictures for you all then.
I went with the Dick Cepek DC-2 Black with Machined Aluminum Wheels. They should look good on my truck...I hope.
I think they are an 1" wider. They are 18x9's with a -13mm off set. I think OEM's are 18x8, not sure what the off set is. I didnt want anything that would compromise function of this truck since I do tow quite a bit, also I'm not one for the look of really wide tires.
I didnt order new tires since the BFG's I have are still in great shape with 15/32" tread left, and at over 200.00 for any tire in a 285 load E I may just get a set of snow tires all the way around for the OEM wheels and just deal with the 2 bent ones for the winter to keep the new ones out of the salt.
I will post the pics for ya, dont get mad if I dont get the truck clean before the pics. though. I've been workin it some and shes quite dirty.
Heres some truck **** for ya, I am reall disapointed in these BFG's None of the wheels took less that 6 oz. of weight. I ordered a set of HanKook Dyna Pros for these wheels now since the 1 tire want over 18 oz. I like the wheels, they do stick out a little more than I like but they may grow on me.
BTW, I went from a 285 65 18 Load E to a 275 70 18 Load E and the Hankook is actually a 32" tall tire where the BFG is a 31" tall tire...thats weird.
Anyone know what the biggest tire I might be able to get away with. I have a 2.25" leveling kit. I need to keep the Load E cause I do tow often. Again the wheels are 18x9...guess I should have asked this before, but I didnt expect to have to buy tires.
Theres not a whole lot out there in a 18" tire I guess. I dont think I will go BFG AT KO again. I have a had trouble with them since they had about 15k on them. I know 2 of them are my fault, but the one that wasnt on the bent wheels I dont know.
Well we will see if the 275's are acutally taller, my fear right now is putting a smaller tire on there is going to make it look funny, but I still need to keep a Load E.
How 'bout taking a look at the Nitto Terra Grapplers? I have the 295/70/18 (34.4" inches tall) on my stock height truck and they fit fine with no rubbing. They'll fit a 7.5-10" wide rim and are E load rated. I've have mine (pics in gallery) for about 20K miles and have been pleased with them. Mine balanced very easily with little weight required. Just a thought.
I found a set of 325-65-18 not sure what size they are in inches, not sure they would fit...I assume they are around 36" or so and with just a leveling kit I dont want to buy them and chance em not fitting or rubbing. I will look at the Nitto's though.
take a look at toyo a/t in the 285/75r18 size. They are load range E with the highest rating (4080 pounds each) I have been able to find. I put some on my 05 and they required hardly any weight to balance. They should fit great with a leveling kit. I have pics in my gallery, my truck has a 4 inch lift though.
I went with the 275's in the Dyna Pr RF10's. I have had great luck with those on My wifes 4 Runner, and my Plow Truck. I also have the choice between 325's in the same tire. The 275's measure 33 inches and the 325's are about 34.5" so for the extra money if I dont like the 275's I'll put the others on.
I'll Post pics once there on and I get the truck clean. I will put up better pics. not from my Black Berry.
I just ordered a set of 325/65-18 Duratracs they should be in this week I hope, I will share some pics when I get them so you can see what they look like.
