I changed mine to a rear sump because of the drain plug location.
Did your motor have the dip stick in the block? Mine does so I'm thinkin I'm gonna go rear sump, does anybody know what to do about the whole I drilled in my timming cover for a front dip stick?
I put a 3/8 dowel in the hole in the front timing case cover to fill it.The oil pan I got was from a 86 F150 and the dip stick goes into the pan.You cann't use the front dip stick with the rear sump pan.
302 introduced in 1969 F100's (2WD only). The only available A/T was the C4 (11 trans pan bolt holes) thru 1977.
The C6 (17 trans pan bolt holes) was not available w/a 302 engine until 1978 and then only as an option.
If a 1969/79 F100; 1975/79 F150 came w/a 302 originally, the 4th digit of the VIN will be a G

D7TZ-6028-B replaced D0TZ-6028-A .. right engine support & D7TZ-6029-B replaced D0TZ-6029-A .. left engine support.
The truck came with a 302, the part guru let me know that in another post. My tranny must not be original the truck is 1970 f100 and you say that combo was not available till 78. I know I have a c6 just not sure from what, it is a c6 with the smaller input shaft I guesse some are for big blocks and ones like I have are for small blocks. I will find some numbers on it and post them today.
I know we are in a truck forums site but can anybody tell me if there is a site like this for old mustangs?
UPDATE: So I got a rear sump pan only one claiming to be stock replacement for 80'2 f150 at Jeggs was one made by Dorman Products? Pan looked the part but the wholes drilled for the bolts were slightly off I had to drill them out two sizes bigger before I could get the pan on correctly Don't by a dorman product pan I learned the hard way.
