Speedometer problem!!!
I have a 91 Bronco w/ the E4OD tranny, my speedo stopped working and now it's making the tranny shift rough. Any clues on what would make the speedo stop workin and how to fix it?

The VSS or ABS has failed or lost contact. Don't run the truck until you solve this issue or you'll risk hurting the tranny. This sensor is located on the rear axle pumpkin's top (the only thing with a cable conected in the axle). Clean the terminals and see if the problem goes away, if it doesn't, replace the sensor.

Take the bolt holding the VSS into the top of the differential housing out. Pull the VSS out and wipe down with a lint-free rag. As Encho said, the problem persists after doing this, replace the VSS.
