LOL, yes keep one with you, if you need it--great--if not, great (some day you will). Don't over ANALyze it. Enjoy your TRIPP!

Take it to the mechanic ,Have him remove the bolt , put never seize on it ,& put it back in & run with the CPS you haven't had any trouble with .. The new ones are mostly junk..

(ask TJ Beggs)

Where are you going on vacation?

Like Rick said, if you're taking it to a shop, have them pull the bolt and put anti-seize on it. Changing the CPS really is a roadside swap so don't worry. And there's no guarantee the new one will outlive the old one, not to mention some of the rough idle and other issues that come with the "new & improved" version of the CPS.

Like Rick said, the new one may not last as long as the old one....even though you bought it at Ford. I have changed mine twice on the side of the road. It takes about 10 minutes....including finding the wrench and the CPS in the glove box...lol

Keep a wrench and the new CPS with the truck at all times and leave the old one in until it fails. It's definitely a do-able roadside fix.

Good job Jim....I know all about traveling across the country....I had quite an adventure on my last road trip to the east coast last July-August....lol

I wish my problem would have been the CPS....alot cheaper and I could have done all of the work myself....LOL
