1987 Ford F-150 4x4 5.0L Truck won't start. Tries to turn over a couple of slow times, then nothing. Getting code 53: TP circuit above maximum voltage. What the heck does this mean? These codes don't explain enough for noobs like me! Is there anything I can check/replace/do to remedy this problem?
Sucks that this is my only means of transportation right now, and the piece of crap won't start.... Don't really want to throw hundreds of dollars of parts at it, if its not going to fix the problem. (been there, done that) Guess I could take it to a mechanic, but since I'm pretty strapped for cash, I've been trying to do things on my own. Can anyone help?
Check the wiring from the TPS back into the harness.
Check to see if you have ground on SIG RTN wire. (SIG RTN wire runs to the computer, through it and to the NEG post of the battery.
