God do I feel sorry for you guys who live in these greenie states.
It does not sound like fun stuff at all! Around by me and north of me I bet not 25% of the vehicles would pass emissions. It would be excellent business for garages and guys like me but it would put the hurt on pretty much everyone else around here.
Thanks guys for all the info, just got X inspected it passed emission test this time. I informed mechanic of the 8500 gvw exemption he said he never heard of it i don`t think he believed me till he did his own homework and found out i was right.. manually had to change gvw to over 8500 for the obd test.. Thanks again....
I live in nevada and just had this same thing happen to me. There was no check engine light but it failed. My OBDII scan tool is flashing O2 sensor/o2 heater, but there are no check engine codes. I wonder if the guy didn't notice the GVW.
most likely it a pending code. I know that if the check engine light is on, it fails. on our trucks, it usually takes something to be really wrong for the light to come on. also, when they hook it up to the obd2 when they do the emissions test, it will say that the o2 sensors are not ready. they will never be ready. I dont think this is the case with you.
