Automatic Tranny Woes

I was talking to a buddy of mine (Who put a 7.3 in a 67 F250) and he was telling me that the VSS send a signal to the speedometer, then the speedometer changes the signal type and sends it to the tranny to tell it when to shift. Is this true or not? Cause I want to have to use the dash from the 95 nor do I want to use the cluster, I plan on making the highboy a minature semi. So all help I can get would be appreciated.

I think the VSS sends the signal to the PCM and PCM sends it to the speedo. The rest I don't know. In fact, I don't know for sure if my first sentence is correct? LOL

i can't see a reason why the 95 dash WON'T work
edit: whoops i think i misread your post... but i would think that anything from the 94.5-97 year range would work fine

I want to keep the dash a 75 dash, I dont want to use the stock cluster I want to (If I can) get all Kensworth gauges to do a new cluster for the 75.
