1st Blackstone Report

I tried to paste into the message since I do not have a scanner but can not figure out how. This is the 1st analysis since buying this truck. The mileage is 48k. Blackstone comments are that aluminum is dominant (25) over iron (21). 25 is higher than universal average (which is 13) and iron is lower (which is 31) but this is not a concern. The other concern was the fuel % - at 3.5. Other properties showed a flashpoint of 380 and % insolubles at .3. There was 0% water and antifreeze. Virtually no city driving though rural driving only allows me to go a few miles before coming to a stop sign and I stop at 3 of them on my 12 mile drive to work. What do you guys think about the fuel dilution? Thanks for any info. Also, we pick up our first 5er next week so I am counting on this truck to perform like my other Ford's have.

You cannot post pics as attachments unless you are a paid supporter user.

So, you can only load them somewhere like photo bucket and link to them there.

You should also get an email with the report as a PDF file.

My last report had fuel at 6%. I attribute it to some hard towing out west and/or bio diesel. I have since begun a strict oil maintainence regimen. It's posted under my signature on dec 18 or so of 2010. I only have about 2300 miles under the program so far as I only use the truck when I'm on the road with the RV. I'll post a 2500 mile oil report in a week or so and we'll see if it's working. You might also be interested in an EPA report on bio diesel. It's posted under my signature on about 15 Dec 2010. Seems like regens will cause fuel in oil and regens with bio will cause more.

bio diesel would give you some nasty results. I would not think you should have 3.5% fuel for your type of driving.

How long did you run the oil? The flash point is because of the fuel.

How far apart and how long are your regens? You may benefit with the new flash that is out there. Also I am thinking the hight AL is due to the washing of the cylinders.

Do you idle alot?

Regen is like clockwork - approximately every 300 miles with a duration of about 12 miles. I do idle every morning 3-5 minutes waiting for the school bus (the stop is 1/2 mile from my house). I have been reading about the latest flash and even talked to my SA. Good intentions are there but I would wait to see what kind of feedback there will be about it. There is no bio in my part of the world. Should I be concerned at all with these #'s? Thanks for the replies. Now if I can get the mouse out of my glove box.

I wouldn't assume no bio just because it's not on the pump. When I talked to Loves, which is a pretty big chain they told me they use bio when they can get the tax incentive and don't use it when they can't. The way the guy (store manager) explained it to me that's an ongoing daily situation and I could have gotten either one. I don't know if it's required to be posted on the pump but the way he explained the situation it didn't sound like they changed the pump display when they changed the fuel. I should have ask him but didn't.
