Question 72 to 79 chassis?

Does anyone know if the body and drive line off of a 72 f250 sport custom would be a bolt on fit to a 79 4x4 chassis?

Not a direct swap, the 72 has narrower frame rails in the rear. Is the 72 a 4X4 or 4X2?
Probably would work with some fabrication.

the 72 is a 2wd but I'm trying to find what year range of 4wd frames would work.

measure the width of the cab bolts on the front and back of the 72 then check the width of the mounting brackets on the 79 !

Also, I believe the 79 frame is longer, leading to a gap behind the cab. Some one correct me if I'm wrong.
67-72 frames will definitely fit

Cab/front clip is bolt hole exchange, bed area will have to be modded. As mentioned the back of the cab was lengthened in 73 behind the rear cab mounts so the chassis is longer to accept.

Correctly posted the chassis were different, but the front body mount locations are same. There is not a 2wd and a 4wd body.

Alright, so basically the entire body won't fit unless modified? Does anyone know what would have to be modified and how hard it would be?

if the bolt holes for the cabs are the same then that part should be relatively easy and if there is a gap between cab and bed you could put a roll bar in there off of the frame or a set of stacks !
