I have a very nice '79 3/4 ton 4x4 rolling chassis that I want to build from the ground up some day. My dad has a '72 (f-100 I think?) that I was thinking about putting on the frame, but have no idea how different the mounts are or anything like that. Just wondering what all would be involved. Thanks.
Are there and differences of body mounting in the '73 to '79? mounts in different locations or anything? or what about changing from a 150 to a 250 frame?
I looked into doing this with a short bed bump. From my understanding the front clip and cab are a direct swap. The bed mounting holes are a couple inches narrower on a bump. The wheelbases are also a couple inches longer on a dent. So the gap behind the cab is gonna be slightly larger.
I went to the link on Fordification and it seems like everything is a direct swap except for the bed mentioned above and the rear cab mounts have to be relocated if I understood it correctly.

The only think I can think of is the Highboy issue.
