DVD Player - Need ideas

Here is what I have in my 2005 Excursion:

Stock overhead DVD player. Sound for it is wired into the AUX-1 input of my Alpine IVA-D310 head unit.

Here is what I want and what I am thinking:

Option1:
Install a second overhead monitor for the third row seat. Is there a way to connect it to the stock DVD player? I want this because I can run the audio through a set of computer speakers instead of running it into the Alpine when we are traveling long distance. I can then listen to the radio instead of whatever DVD is playing.

Option2:
Use the Alpine's DVD player and add a monitor to the third row. Can the stock monitor be wired into the Alpine? I believe this option would take away the ability to divert the audio to different speakers.

Also, is anyone familiar with this head unit and maybe I can somehow wire the stock DVD player into it another way? Then maybe use the video output to get the second monitor wired in. Directions speak of need to be Ai-NET compatible.

Thanks for any insight or ideas.
