I filled my 6.0 up with a full tank of Premium Unleaded from the "Green Hose" at an Amoco Station in Blue Earth MN a few years ago. I made it to the next exit and then spent 3 days waiting for Jethro, Bubba and Barney to get it taken care of....
At least it wasn't Larry, Darryl, and his other brother Darryl.
Gotta watch that in MN and WI (and probably some other places too). The green/black/yellow/blue hose or nozzle cover thing, I mean.

I thought that's how they sell the ESP. At least, that's how I've always gotten them, direct from the dealer where I purchased the vehicle.
Yea - you CAN buy from serviceing dealer - But you can buy anywhere you want.. With the internet you can compare prices & buy one at a dealership wherever..
Partsguyed.com is suppost to be very well priced & from earlier discussions the prices for the same thing are all over the map.
As for honoring it - an ESP is a Ford products & good at all dealerships!
Remember also that the service & sales guys at most dealerships don't even talk... At least the larger dealerships -

Ill talk to any customer not a big issue for me. Ive never worked in a small shop either.
NOw getting me to awnser the phone is a chore. your better off asking for directions to my stall.
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I have had many issues with my new 6.7l diesel also. Has any one got the new reflash for the CEL gong on in cold weather. There is apperentlly somthing that causes the CEL to go on in cold weather below 20F, it has been on in my truck for 4800 miles now and the dealer says that ford is working on it. The codes are p0133, p164a, p2a00, and a low boost condition. The turbo also surges occasionally on the highway while cruising, from 2psi to about 8psi. I thought it might be the regen but don't know enough about the truck or the diesel for that matter, it is my first. I have also had other small issues that were not ford issues but from delivery. When it was tied down to the truck it was done wrong and had to have the wheel sensors repaced, along with the bushings on the track arms. Other than that its been a good truck, I get about 18 mpg light and my kid thinks its cool.

Cheezit -
I was not dissing you or mechanics.. I usually have good response from them. I have seen sales people that figure the truck is sold & they have more important things to do.
At my shop I deal with the SF & mechanics - Personally I am not a big fan of service writers... so I go straight to the guy with the knowledge..
Sorry - if my language sounded negative to mechanics...

grippy
The CEL for the DEF issue is well documented in several threads here. Here is a link to one of them:
Well, it seems all is back in working order. We pulled the 5th wheel home this weekend. I put my foot into the throttle on a couple of hills just for good measure. She downshifted and growled all the way to the top in impressive fashion. I still smell a little diesel when at idle, but I’m hoping that it is residual. I’ll be checking the driveway for drips in the next few days.
Good news...Too bad a less than stellar dealership service department made a bad experience even worse....
Yessir. The shame of it all is that we paid a little more to buy from a dealer close to home. It is a relatively new facility, but they seems to employ less than desirable customer service folks. Live and learn...

Glad to hear your rollin again. Hopefully you will receive a survey in the mail regarding the recent repair on your truck. Don't be shy. Fill it out truthfully. The service dept. will get the results. I recently took my truck in for the first oil change and they commented about a survey I had filled out back in Sept. 2010 regarding some warranty work they performed. At first I felt a little sheepish, but then I reminded the mgr. they had a bad reputation to live down. He assured me they were working on that and so far I've been happy with them. Be honest and professional. That's how we all improve.
....Be honest and professional. That's how we all improve.
If I get a survey, I will be honest and professional. I tried VERY hard not to come down on the dealership for things that were not their fault. The HPFP failure was not their fault. The slow supplier (I will assume) was not their fault. The BS about widespread issues with the HPFP and the grease in my seat is indeed their fault and unnecessary. Making me wait because nobody could find the paperwork and my keys? Yeah, poor organization is their fault. I missed a phone call from a research/marketing firm late last week. If it was concerning my experience, I will indeed be honest and professional. No need to be anything else.
Truckland, I feel you pain I also went to get in my truck after service to find grease on the seat. The kid behind the counter acted as if it were no big deal, as if it was common place. They detailed the interior, I'll be doing my own oil changes from now on.

I guess I'm a little spoiled. I was in Houston for several years and built a relationship with a dealer there. Every time I brought in my truck, they were very professional and treated my truck as if it were their own.
This time it seems the mechanic did an outstanding job, but the customer service was suboptimal. They cared NOTHING about me or my truck once the warranty was complete other than getting a signature on their warranty bill. Ford is very slow in responding to my concerns. As was suggested on another thread, it seems they would rather I go "pound salt".
It seems today more than ever costomer service has just gone out the window espeically in high volume dealers. It's very hard today to find the dealer or service shop that really cares or fakes it good. What do we do we can't afford all the diagnotic equiptment to work on these veheciles ourselfs, ahh the days of chaning the plugs and wires it runs better seem to be a distant memory.
