300 serpentine belt conversion ??

300 serpentine belt conversion ??
anyone done a conversion on a 300 i6 motor

I remember someone did it over on
Ford Six Performance Home/Index . I think they just switched all the pulleys over. The other point of consideration is that you'd need a serpentine style water pump, since they rotate the opposite direction.

Why would you serpentine an I6? just puts more strain turning a tighter belt? unless its just for looks?

ive thrown two belts in the last month the just wont stay on

ive been reading some other forums and it looks like in some of the later years the started putting serpentine belts on like e250s and vans with 300 i6 motors i wonder if those will work

I plan on using the serpentine system from my '93 F150 4.9l donor on my 75 300 in my Roadster. I will be watching this thread.

Serpentine belts also have a lot more grip, which is why the serpentine belt setup has one belt, whereas the non has two belts for the alternator.
The downside is, if you throw a belt, you pretty much lose everything.

If you are throwing belts there is something causing this. Pulley wear and alignment?

well im going to the junkyard tomorrow to see if they have the parts ill keep everyone up to date on what im doing
the reason for throwing belts is high rpms and bumps when playin out in a field lol
