I have a 99 F250 XLT that I just got about 3 weeks ago. It is an XLT without power mirrors, but does have windows and locks (or it will again when I finally change the stupid actuators - found that thread already).
I got the truck with two keys and nothing more. Was wondering if these came with factory keyless entry (as every other FoMoCo vehicle I have had in the past 15 years has)?
I still have some N.O.S. of keyless entry remotes and would like to program them to work with the truck if it has it. Not sure how to even figure out if it would or not - any help would be appreciated.
(too bad I don't have the window sticker or build sheet)
Not sure if this helps, but I have a 97 XLT and it has the keyless entry. I also had another 97 XLT without. I also have a 99 XLT that did not come with it. From what I found, it was an option... Not standard on the XLT.
I have an 03 XLT and i tried the sequence you can do to program new remotes which also tells you if it will work on your truck 4 times and no results. the doors are supposed to lock and unlock automatically but they did not. my friend has a 99 XLT with less options inside then me but he has keyless entry, but its part of his viper security system
Yep. I tried this just yesterday. You cycle the key 8 times and it should lock and unlock the doors if you have keyless entry. My XLT does not. Also there's supposed to be a set of solenoids behind the cup holders if you have the option.
Thanks - I couldn't remember the 8 times thing. Tried it and NOTHING. Guess I will have to buy a full alarm system for remote start and not just the oem add on. Then at least I will have keyless entry too.
