Has anybody ever used a ford stick on keypad on another brand of vehicle. I have a jeep wrangler and was wondering if the programing would be comparable. It does have the keyless entry, just no keypad. Also if the ford has the factory keypad could you add the stick on to the other side of the vehicle or somewhere. I would think it would be compatable with a ford. Any of you ford wizzard can chime in now. Thanks
They were selling OEM stick ons at the dealers back in 05-06 model years. Not sure if they still sell them, but I doubt they would work for anything else other than Ford, Lincoln or Mercury products. (I had added one to the back of my Mountaineer years ago - it programmed just like a regular remote control from ford).
I installed a factory stick on unit from Ford on my wife's 2010 Fusion and had to program it specific to the vehicle with a procedure, so would say with at least 99% certainty that it would not work on a non-Ford vehicle.
I originally thought they were all inserts myself until I was set straight in another thread I was involved in some time back about keyless entry. I was very surprised when I learned about it.
Factory key pads are wired in, but there are stick ons available that simulate the key fob and are wireless. (courtesy of bpounds Feb/18/2010) Thread Here. Post #19
